Winds of Change Show

Father Anthony with Cristina and Tony regroup today after the weekend, chatting and catching up as we lose an hour for Daylight Savings Time and we dread Monday.  Father offers daily prayer and afterwards turns to the readings of this past Sunday. They chat about the Book of Exodus as the people grumble about their situation. The group recognizes how we, the people of today do that also.  Father gently reminding us that we take one day at a time and that we focus on God to get through the struggles of each day.

Father Koys takes us on another “brain wrinkling” walk as he tackles the topic of households. Households is one of the seven layers in Father Koys art piece “Heptagraph”.  Fr. Koys wrinkles your brain to contemplate this level of association as he references historical references to clarify the fascinating connections.  He dives into historical references on Shakespeare, the House of Plantagenet; it’s two branches, House of York and House of Lancaster, as well as the House of Tudor and the war of the Roses.  While experiencing technical difficulties today, Father Koys was a real trooper and trudge along to make his point in order to wrinkle your brain.  Happy Wednesday!

It’s Monday and Lauretta has as her guest, Maria Vadia, author of the book, “Fire Power”.  Lauretta and Maria chat about the founding of our country and share details regarding the historical event that is now in its 250^th anniversary.  They draw attention to the upcoming rededication that will take place in Washington DC.  Then they turn to talk about the greatness of Pentecost, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and evangelizing with the Holy Spirit.  They chat about the history of Pentecost and its importance.  Lauretta and Maria encourage everyone to get fired up with the Holy Spirit and invite people to attend the Holy Spirit School to learn how to get filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit.  For more information please go to www.daysofglory.org or call 520-414-8129.  You can find Maria’s book, Fire Power at Amazon.

Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father greets everyone and discusses the school mass, just completed that included a light, ribbon and awards ceremony.  Father recognizes the bittersweet joy given this is the last school award ceremony as the school will close at the end of the academic year.  Father discusses the school history and the changes in the area that ultimately led to this outcome. The group agrees that despite the school closing, St Stanislaus Kostka Academy offered a good Catholic based education and the students will take that with them.  After break Father offers prayer with the Litany to Our Lady.  Father continues discussion regarding the Ascension started yesterday and they comment on the beauty of the mass in celebration of the Feast of the Ascension. Father closes with reading scripture from the Catechism to offer words to help us maintain proper perspective in our faith.

They discuss the beauty of the event and the beauty of prayer. Father mentions that today is the Feast of the Ascension and they discuss this as well as the need for Convergence. After prayer and a break, Father then turns the mic over to Alice Babij (Bobby) to continue her presentation on the book, “This Joyful Eastertide, by Rev. Scott A. Father Koys takes us on another “brain wrinkling” walk as he tackles feminism in Christianity.  He welcomes author Carrie Gress to discuss her book on the topic titled “Something Wicked: Why Feminism Can’t Be fused with Christianity”.  Together they tackle the topic and highlight some of the points made in the book. They touch on the seven elements of feminism and the creation of a shadow church as feminism seems to act as a religion of its own. Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father greets everyone and the group catches up after the weekend.  Father leads us in prayer along with the litany.  After a break, Father turns to the readings from Sunday and discusses the sacrifice of Jesus, his death, resurrection and the gift of the Holy Spirit.  He chats about living a sacrificial life as God calls us to do and a move towards personal metanoia. Discussing a recent experience with the holy baptism, then switches gears and mentions the ongoing egoistic nature of society and the polarization being experienced in the church.

Father greets everyone and mentions how energetic he felt at waking this morning and how he feels he seems to have lost that beat. Alice Babij joins us today and tries to be uplifting but the group veers off into somber topics, leading us into prayer including the litany. After prayer, Father warns the group he will be posing a question after a break. After the break, Father poses the question “Is Jesus my friend?”.  He references the gospel John 15:14 “If you keep my commandments, then I call you my friends” and discusses the nature of our relationship to Jesus to unpack and discuss the ideas around this question. Father greets everyone and leads us in prayer including the Litany.  Today Father and the group contemplate the questions, “Does God love Lucifer?” and “Can God forgive Lucifer?”  They have a thought-provoking conversation on the subject being reminded that God created Lucifer and the only power that God does NOT have is the power to love us! Join them as you listen and contemplate these questions for yourself.

Father Anthony with Tony today regroup after having the last week of to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. After greetings and reminiscing about the events and past times in this neighborhood, the group talks about the times and how abnormal seems to have become the new normal.  Father discusses how the moving away from God to focus on the SELF has caused this disorientation that has us dealing with diabolical issues.  Father read multiple readings, unpacking them and applying them to today’s times, more specifically, the need to reorient ourselves with how the gospel calls us to live.
