Winds of Change Show

Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. They open the show picking up on yesterday’s commentary about the current times were living in and the state of the world; war and fear of escalation. Father Anthony leads us in prayer for much needed peace.  After prayer Father discusses Just War Theory; the framework used to determine when it is permissible to go to war that originated with Catholic theologians like Augustine of Hippo and St. Thomas Aquinas.  After a final break Father discusses the Divine Mercy and Divine Mercy Sunday: the Sunday following Easter Sunday, this year celebrated on April 12, 2026.  Join us for the Divine Mercy Sunday service at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish.  Visit our website for schedules.

Father Anthony with Cristina and Tony regroup today after the Tridium and Easter Sunday.  They chat about the current times we're living in and the state of the world; war and fear of escalation. They try to turn to the better topic of Easter and Father recounts the story of the young man coming to terms that there is a God and he needs to accept this and stop living in denial.  Father comments on the beauty of that acceptance and discusses how the gospel calls us to love and obey God.  His hope is that ALL come to this realization and live a life according to God’s Law.

It’s Easter Monday and Lauretta has as her guest, lay Catholic evangelist and author of 11 books, Maria Valdia.

Lauretta and Maria discuss the Miracle of Easter recounting the harrowing story of the rescue of the second Airman and WSO (Weapons System Officer). This airman exclaimed God is good at his rescue.

Lauretta and Maria celebrate and recount the life and work on behalf of the Holy Spirit by Father Tom DiLorrenzo who passed into Eternal Life.

Lauretta and Maria lament the demonic infiltration in every aspect of our lives and how with the power of the Holy Spirit working through our enthusiasm and prayer can defeat evil with the Gifts that the Holy Spirit empowers us.

Today we run the Winds of Change combined show covering Part I and II on the book, “The Seven Last Words of Christ” by Monsignor James Turro and Fr. Scott Haynes.  Alice Babij (Bobby) joins Father to review the book as we reflect on the actual last seven words spoken by Jesus at his crucifixion.  The meditations and reflections of this book hope to prepare the soul for deeper contemplation offering a path into Christ’s heart at the time of his sacrifice of all, for us. It’s another brain wrinkling Wednesday as Father Tom takes on his sabbatical travels near Knoxville, TN.

Father Koys takes us into a Protestant worship space where there is praise and worship with a stage and no mention of the Trinity. The Pascal Mystery isn’t considered as congregants are urged to accept only Jesus as their Lord and Savior with no mention of who He is. Notably absent is the reality that Christ is 2^nd Person of the Trinity and that Christ will send the Holy Spirit.

Father Koys noted that in this Protestant worship space there is no concept of intercessory prayer with the Communion of Saints and that the fullness of Christ’s teaching is not realized.

Lauretta opens Winds of Change with a request for prayer for Jimmie Lei, listener, Dave and for peace in Israel.

Lauretta discusses the tragic murder of Loyola student; Sheridan Gorman killed at the hands of an illegal alien not detained because of “sanctuary” dictates as well as the senseless murder of Katie Abraham.

Lauretta unpacks the significance and customs of every day during Holy week.

She further discusses the actions of tone-deaf Brandon Johnson and J.B Pritzker and asks for prayer for their conversion.

Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish, chatting briefly about how fast time flies as Holy Week will be upon us soon.  Father focuses today on speaking about the Theophany in the Eucharist and distinguishes between Theophany and Christophany.  After referencing the I Am gospel, the gospel of John, he goes on to discuss this past Sundays gospel; the raising of Lazarus.

Father Koys is still on sabbatical and is staying with his sister Mary Lou in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Father explores good and bad signs on how we interpret them.

Father further explores the concept of guardrails. Ideally when we make a commitment, say in a committed relationship the contemporary thought is that marriage is not necessary. Because of concupiscence with no guardrail such as the confines of the Sacrament of Matrimony, there may be fertile ground for temptation. Living together within guardrails of the Sacrament of Matrimony the maintenance of a loving relationship is greatly assured.

Guardrails such as the 10 Commandments are necessary for society to function as God provides them for us to have a true faith.
