Episode # 5732 – The Feast Day Of Our Lady Of The Rosary 2021

A change of pace at the start of the show, as Producer Nick fills in with Tony and as Tony says, “when Father’s away, the kids will play” LOL, and they start off talking about how Fall and October seems to have arrived fast, raising how time moves quick.  When Father Anthony comes down and after the opening prayer, the Two Tony’s discuss the challenges of the world and that the church faces today as well.  Father Anthony talks about that in terms of some of the books he’s read recently and how even with all the problems, challenges, and the Spiritual Battle Father Anthony mentions a lot, the church prevails.  On a different subject, in order to focus with all the turmoil mentioned, today is the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Two Tony’s discuss the history surrounding this particular Feast Day.

Father Koys is here loyal listeners, ready to wrinkle your brains with thoughtful and insightful topics.  Today, his focus is on the identity of the church in a Catholic sense and distinguishing it from the Protestant view.  To help on this, he turns once again to the works of G.K. Chesterton, whom he has examined and quoted many times on many shows, to look at this further and in other areas, such as with politics and politicians and the fallacies of the church.   

Episode # 5730 – The Two Tony’s On The Saints In October

Tuesday and the Two Tony’s are here and after the opening prayer, they discuss the feeling of being disturbed and you might not know why.  This raised the idea of the hesitation people have today and the uneasy feeling about offending people or doing something that might offend someone.  This brings to mind that we have to redefine ourselves, as we are all citizens of not just nations, but the entire world and that we have the capacity for both good and evil, but with God’s help, good will come through.  With the month of October here, the Two Tony’s discuss some if not all of the Saints that this month celebrates and commemorates and how we can look to them in the times we’re in.

Episode # 5729 – The Mission Of The Chicago Bible Society

It’s Monday and Mary and Lauretta are back with us, and they are very excited for October being Respect Life Month and with much going on with that in mind.  Joining the ladies today, is Ken Oliver, the Executive Director of the Chicago Bible Society, to discuss the Chicago Bible Society itself in terms of its work and mission.  The three also discuss the upcoming fundraiser the Chicago Bible Society has coming up within the next few days. Another aspect examined is those that have benefitted from the Chicago Bible Society’s work.  Towards the end of the show, Lauretta (since Mary has to be away for several business matters) asks Ken to share more stories about himself and his work at the Chicago Bible Society.  For more information, visit:

Feeling kind of blah, (not sick) in terms of where to go with the show, the Two Tony’s open with prayer, and how today is an important Feast Day, the Feast Day of the Triumph of the Cross.  With such an important Feast Day for this year, the Two Tony’s discuss much of the history behind this particular day and also its importance to not only the Church, but to the entire world.  Also, with the Chaplet Prayer in mind, Father Anthony points out that it’s our way to express gratitude toward the Father and for His help and our continued faith in Him.  Another serious question Father Anthony expresses, not only to Tony but to all of you, is: “Where are we?” in terms of here 20 years later after the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks. 

 

Episode # 5724 – An Examination Into Benet Academy

Mary and Lauretta are back loyal listeners.  The ladies are doing good and today, in fact the eternal struggle with summer and fall continues as the weather continues to go between cold and hot.  On a different note, they discuss how some of the academics, athletics, and other areas regarding one of the most well-known schools in the Chicagoland area: Benet Academy.  This brings to mind talking about teachers and the education of children and how this particular school might be misleading everyone in some areas.  One area in particular is how the school recently hired a new lacrosse coach that is in a same sex marriage.  For more information on Mary and Lauretta:

Episode # 5723 – Allowing Ourselves To Let God Guide Our Lives

TGIF everyone.  After conducting a funeral this morning, Father Anthony reflects on not only the family, but all those suffering and going through either the same thing or similar sad and dark times, not just with the pandemic going on.  This prompts the Two Tony’s to remind to turn to the Holy Scriptures and to God in these times we live in.  This also brings to mind how we have to enjoy life and to allow ourselves to be in presence of God and to have Him help us in our lives.
