Father Anthony with Tony, and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. They comment on the summerlike weather we are experiencing. Father comments on having told couples getting married this fall that the couples had made good choice in choosing to marry in cooler months and here we are in a heatwave in October with temps in the 80’s! After prayer Father chats about his time at the school this morning, passing out rosaries to the students, seeing the celebration of Hispanic Heritage and sharing encounters with family members. Father shares life details and the words of St. Therese-the Little Flower, her feast day was celebrated on October 1st. Given that October is the month of the rosary, Father speaks to this and encourages us to pray the rosary daily.
REMINDERS: Father Anthony will celebrate the Blessing of the Animals at 10am tomorrow, Saturday October 4th and the Blue Mass at 10am on Sunday October the 19th in honor of our First Responders, all are welcome. Please join us!

As we begin the month of October, the Month of the Rosary, Father Anthony leads us in praying a decade of the rosary to initiate the show. After prayer Father focuses on the Guardian Angels. He shares quotes of the Saints that encourage us to seek and invoke our Guardian Angels as he admits he does not but vows to do so going forward. The group discuss Guardian Angels, the messengers of the Lord that are warriors meant to protect us. They chat about the nine choirs of angels which each have distinct roles and authority.

Lauretta hosts the program today and opens by calling on all Prayer Warriors to add The Day of Latter Saints in Michigan to their prayer lists for all impacted. She thanks the prayer warriors for their ongoing commitment to prayers. Lauretta discusses the Archangels and shares details on the purview of each saint: St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael. She then offers resources for coming to or growing in your faith, encouraging you to check out Encounter and Pentecost USA. Lauretta then welcomes guest and former co-host Mary FioRito to discuss Catholic Awards Standards & Procedure to discuss the vetting and validations that must be followed in order for awards to be made in the name of the Church. Their discussion helps us understand the importance of the vetting process that are required for awards to be made as they represent the Church.

With God and prayer, you can get through today and each day, but you must be humble and accept this reality and build a relationship with the Lord. The group discusses love, relationships and the practicality of life that one must consider. Father reminds us that life is not easy, was not intended to be but that we need to allow God to liberate us and allow His will for our lives to be.

Afterward he welcomes Alice Babij (pronounced Bobby) of the St Nicholas Ukrainian Cathedral. She joins Father to discuss the life, the miracles, the wonderful short life story of one of our newly canonized saints: Saint Carlo Acutis (1991-2006). Alice shares the huge impact Carlo Acutis had in his short life of 15years as captured in the book “My Highway to Heaven” by Rev Scott Haynes. Carlo Acutis’ message encourages people to remain unique to themselves. The hope is that this current day saint can be a true model for our youth today.

He unpacks the quote and multiple interpretations of it that have dominated TV and social media. After this, he shares his presentation of Jacques Marquette which he will present at the Heritage Festival this weekend on September 27th in Bourbonnais Illinois. Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. We begin the show with greetings and go right into prayer. After prayer the trio speaks regarding language for a bit that leads into culture and labels. After the break Father refers to the words of St. Anthony the Great “A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying “You are mad; you are not like us.” They discuss this as Father unpacks the words. Father Anthony chats about the positive impression he gathered from the Celebration of Life for Charlie Kirk. They end the show on the thought of persons not praying because they believe that if they are in grave sin that God will not hear them, but that is false. God is open to all including sinners and all should pray to Him.

Lauretta mentions being inspired by what she saw in the Celebration of Life that took place for Charlie Kirk. And in true Lauretta fashion she continues to challenge the prayer warriors and all to turn to prayer and forgive others to release the hurt and anger and reclaim your peace & joy. Lauretta then welcomes her guest, Anne Maire Miller of Aid for Women. Anne tells us about her organization and what they do to assist women in their pregnancy journey.
