Father Anthony shares the business of parish life, as there’s always something to keep him busy here. Today Lauretta hosts the program as she is joined by her guest, Maria Vadia, author of the book, “Fire Power”. They talk about the greatness of Pentecost, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and evangelizing with the Holy Spirit. They chat about the history of Pentecost and its importance. Lauretta and Maria encourage everyone to get fired up with the Holy Spirit and invite people to attend the Holy Spirit School. Fr. Anthony with Tony, and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Today is the last day of school, as of noon, the children are on summer break. Father Anthony tells us about the kindergarten graduation from this morning that leads to a chat about graduations at various grades and discuss whether they are needed leading to varying opinions. After prayer, Father turns his attention to Pentecost Sunday which is this Sunday, June 8th. He discusses the significance of Pentecost along with a reading. With Pentecost being the end of the Easter Season, we prepare to go back into Ordinary Time.

Father reminds us that there are still open slots at the Kostka Academy Summer Program. The trio chats and reminisce about summertime in their youth, drawing attention to how things have changed and most kids are not just enjoying the outdoors on their own. Father Anthony Speaks regarding St. Boniface informing us about his life, his works and his words. He notices that those words apply today but may not be welcome by many and frowned upon by others. He askes what are we doing wrong in terms of evangelization, why do we struggle to bring people to conversion.

Today he reminds us that while Lent is a season of foregoing, giving something up…to do so in the right attitude is to give up something beautiful of the world so you can go back to enjoying it after Easter. Foregoing in the proper spirit should be a way to prepare yourself for something better: namely Jesus.

Fr. Anthony, Tony, and Cristina return live today to talk about the goings on, people in the Parish, and of course to offer up prayers. They discuss current events that are occurring, signaling our need to return to God, leading Father Anthony to renew his call for supporters and donations to donate to the Kostka Kids fund a prominent way for us to evangelize. This fund is available to ensure that families interested in Catholic education for their children are able to acquire it here at St. Stanislaus Kostka Academy, despite their financial means. He also asks us for prayer to ensure that we are able to raise the necessary funds to save our children by being able to fund their catholic education if needed.

Lauretta hosts the program and has her guest Father Tom McCarthy join her to chat about Our New Pope, Pope Leo the XIV. Father McCarthy is a personal friend of Pope Leo. Lauretta guides their chat to highlight things everyday people may want to know about the Pope. Father McCarthy emphasizes that Pope Leo is a great guy and sees that many want to know if he is one of us….Father McCarthy says, He is! He encourages us to “watch what he does” so we can get to know him better. Lauretta promotes the Chicago Celebration of Pope Leo that will take place on June 14th at Guaranteed Rate Field (better known as Comiskey Park). She also reminds us about Worldwide/Nationwide Pentecost Vigil on Saturday June 7th at St. Luke Church in River Forest, Illinois.

Father Anthony focuses on the reading of the feast day of the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord yesterday. The group got into a discussion about the symbolism and the mysticism of the Eucharist and picked up on that discussion today. They go on to discuss changes that are occurring since Vatican II as they share thoughts on changes that move away from tradition, feeling a sense of loss of the beauty that is our Church,

Father Anthony focuses on the reading of the feast day today. Father Anthony stressing that the mass is a perpetuation of the sacrifice of the cross in the sense that it offers [Jesus] anew to God, and thus commemorates the sacrifice of the cross reenacting it symbolically and mystically, and applies the fruits of Christ’s death upon the cross to individual human souls.
