TGIF everyone and the Two Tony’s are back with us.  Today, Father Anthony has lots of good things going on, including a wedding after the show too.  For the actual show, the Two Tony’s discuss the musician John Lennon for one thing, which is connected to an article Father Anthony read on children and their reactions to the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan and the John Lennon song, Imagine.  In a different direction, they discuss today’s Feast Day: The Feast Day of the Transfiguration.

 

Episode # 5707 – Continuing On How To Not Lose Our Unity

Thursday with the Two Tony’s as usual and they are happy to be on the show as always.  After the opening prayer, they pick up where they left off on Tuesday, continuing the discussion of feeling angry and powerless at times, especially with everything that is happening around us in the world.  But, a sign of hope the Two Tony’s try to bring is how to not lose our way, as well as not to lose our faith in God and what He can do to help.  After the first break, Father Anthony reads some fascinating words from Saint Gregory on this discussion. 

Episode # 5706 – The First Day Of Joining The New Catholic Radio Voice For Chicagoland

For a change of pace, the Two Tony’s are here and as advertised since last week and starting today the first day of September, Winds of Change is proud and privileged to be a part of the New Catholic Radio Voice for Chicagoland on 88.5 FM WSFI and AM 750 WNDZ.  Joining the Two Tony’s to share in the joy of this new merger, is a very special guest, who is a part of the Catholic Programming, Pat McCaskey, a very influential and familiar man in Chicago sports history.  Pat McCaskey shares with us how he became involved in Catholic Radio, the reasons for why he and the staff at WSFI expanded their programing, and a major presence with the Chicago Bears, being a Chicago Bears Board Member and Vice President, as well as the author of nine books, some which include the Chicago Bears or the Catholic Faith.   

Episode # 5705 – Trying Not To Allow The Devil To Steal Our Unity

The Two Tony’s are here with us and it’s off to a grieving start you could say, with all the destruction Hurricane Ida has done to Louisiana and all those suffering with lots making the Two Tony’s angry and powerless.  This also brings to mind all that is going on in Afghanistan with the Taliban back in power.  This raises again the feeling of anger and powerlessness, but also the frustration of what else can be done or what can the individual do in terms of all that is happening.  The question Father Anthony asks relating to all this is, how do we not lose our unity to the Devil who is trying to break it for us.

Episode # 5703 – The Feast Day Of Saint Monica 2021

TGIF and after conducting a funeral this morning, the Two Tony’s are ready for the weekend and first after going through a busy week and today is the Feast Day of Saint Monica.  The Two Tony’s discuss about the neighborhoods and all the problems, past and present, that people face and what they do and did in the different ages and how times (and the winds) have changed, especially keeping their faith.  With that in mind, they discuss the way things have gone in the world, in particular continuing on what is going on in Afghanistan and the Pandemic which leads us to either go with Jesus or not.  A change of pace, the Two Tony’s discuss the Saints today, with it being the Feast of Saint Monica which lead to us staying vigilante in these times and keep up fighting the good fight. 

Episode # 5702 – The Two Tony’s On Pure Evil

Thursday with the Two Tony’s and they are usually thrilled to be here, but thrill turns to grief as they discuss about the bombing at the Kabul Airport that was breaking news this morning, causing Father Anthony to wonder about the hope in the world on this sad day.  This also brings to mind that September 11th is coming up and Saint Stanislaus will hold a commemorative mass for them.  Mainly, Father Anthony shares some of the latest facts and news surrounding the two explosions and the safety of all those involved and caught in the middle of it, leading to discuss on Pure Evil in the world.  Tony shares his thoughts on this as well, leading to all the anger and fear felt by this act.  They also look at and reflect on works that talk about leaving the church and losing ones faith.       

Episode # 5701 - Father Koys Looks More Into Covid-19 And The Vaccines

Father Koys returns to us loyal listeners after being away on vacation.  At the start of the show, he shares with us what he read during that time, the works of Warren Carol which examines the history of the church through a 5 volume set.  To help indicate what year, around 1250.  His main focus on the show, is to discuss more on the Covid-19 Pandemic and the virus itself, along with the vaccines that have been developed to combat the virus.  Like many around the world, Father Koys wants to see this virus go away and he shares some of the latest facts and testimonies on the vaccines, as well as the Delta-Variant form of the virus.

Monday Mood hit the Two Tony’s this Tuesday, with thinking about how anyone doesn’t or can’t survive without prayer.  This raises them to stress the idea and thoughts on how important prayer is in our lives and how it’s an essential element in our faith and faith in God, especially the way the world is today.  This also has them discuss the latest information regarding what is going on in Afghanistan and those who are going through difficult times in Haiti.   With that in mind, the Two Tony’s discuss more on the Covid-19 vaccines.
