It’s Monday and Mary and Lauretta are back with us, and they are very excited for October being Respect Life Month and with much going on with that in mind.  Joining the ladies today, is Ken Oliver, the Executive Director of the Chicago Bible Society, to discuss the Chicago Bible Society itself in terms of its work and mission.  The three also discuss the upcoming fundraiser the Chicago Bible Society has coming up within the next few days. Sheen and what we can obtain and gain by reading it in terms of addressing the difference between the spiritual life and connecting with God and what people get when talking to psychiatrists and psychologists.  Father Koys also continues looking at the Coronavirus and asks the question: Are we getting the full story?"  This comes from the latest information and data regarding those who got infected by the virus and also the vaccines.     

Episode # 5725 - The Feast Day Of The Triumph Of The Cross

Feeling kind of blah, (not sick) in terms of where to go with the show, the Two Tony’s open with prayer, and how today is an important Feast Day, the Feast Day of the Triumph of the Cross.  With such an important Feast Day for this year, the Two Tony’s discuss much of the history behind this particular day and also its importance to not only the Church, but to the entire world.  Also, with the Chaplet Prayer in mind, Father Anthony points out that it’s our way to express gratitude toward the Father and for His help and our continued faith in Him.  Another serious question Father Anthony expresses, not only to Tony but to all of you, is: “Where are we?” in terms of here 20 years later after the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks. 

 

Episode # 5724 – An Examination Into Benet Academy

Mary and Lauretta are back loyal listeners.  The ladies are doing good and today, in fact the eternal struggle with summer and fall continues as the weather continues to go between cold and hot.  On a different note, they discuss how some of the academics, athletics, and other areas regarding one of the most well-known schools in the Chicagoland area: Benet Academy.  This brings to mind talking about teachers and the education of children and how this particular school might be misleading everyone in some areas.  One area in particular is how the school recently hired a new lacrosse coach that is in a same sex marriage.  For more information on Mary and Lauretta:

Episode # 5723 – Allowing Ourselves To Let God Guide Our Lives

TGIF everyone.  After conducting a funeral this morning, Father Anthony reflects on not only the family, but all those suffering and going through either the same thing or similar sad and dark times, not just with the pandemic going on.  This prompts the Two Tony’s to remind to turn to the Holy Scriptures and to God in these times we live in.  This also brings to mind how we have to enjoy life and to allow ourselves to be in presence of God and to have Him help us in our lives.

Thursday with The Two Tony’s and Father Anthony starts off with talking to Tony and asking him who said a quote at the start of the show.  The answer… Saint Padre Pio, for today is his Feast Day, allowing Father Anthony to share not only his quotes, but also his history.  Father Anthony also brings up again, J. R. R. Tolkien and The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, which Tolkien said things about the Holy Eucharist and how it relates to Padre Pio.

Father Koys is here loyal listeners and he is ready to wrinkle your brains as he does every Wednesday.  With Gay Rights in the headlines, he turns his attention on several Philosophical Questions raised.  The Philosophical Questions  brought up deal with the various morals and principals that are employed in the Catholic Community and institutions and how they clash and relate.  

Episode # 5720 – Vaccination Rules, Policies, And More

The Two Tony’s are here and Producer Nick reminds them Fall is almost here, since he is wearing his signature pumpkin hat (all in fun).  After the opening prayer, they discuss more on the Covid-19 vaccines and what the church is saying in terms of those who have to be fully vaccinated in order to attend mass, funerals, and weddings.  The Two Tony’s share their feelings on not only the pandemic, but also on what the church is saying for fully vaccinated people.  This also brings to mind all the factors in terms of how we have been combating the virus, such as the booster shots, more testing done, and those who choose to be or not to be vaccinated and how something feels off with some of this, which once again raises the questions of are we are war and/or are we in a battle with this virus?
